Nephrology
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides the region’s only pediatric nephrology service. The division manages a full range of kidney and urinary tract disorders including:
- Acute renal failure
- Malformations of the kidneys, including aplasia, dysplasia and anatomical abnormalities
- Chronic kidney disease
- Electrolyte disorders
- Hematuria (blood in urine)
- Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS)
- Hereditary glomerular diseases and other hereditary kidney diseases
- Hypertension
- Glomerulonephritis
- Kidney biopsy
- Kidney stones
- Kidney transplant
- Nephrotic syndrome
- Polycystic kidney disease
- Proteinuria (protein in urine)
- Renal failure
- Renal insufficiency
- Renal tubular acidosis
- Spina bifida (kidney evaluation)
- Obstructive nephropathies (UPJ, UVJ, PUV, Eagle-Barrett Syndrome, etc.)
- Urinary-tract abnormalities and infections
- Vasculitis (HSP, SLE, Wegner's)
